My story

Welcome to my place! I’m your host, Kat  - Mamma of three, great lover of food, wine, cocktails and Allen’s Green Frogs. Oh – and I’m addicted to coffee. Big time.

IMG_7134 2Since Mamma’s Vida’s inception in January 2013, its been my confessional. My own special spot on the ‘www’ where I could share my musings – sometimes serious, often ridiculous and very much me.

Many moons ago, I studied Media at Uni with aspirations to become a journalist –  but that went downhill fast when I met and married my now former husband. While love isn’t nearly a good enough excuse to abandon my own personal career goals, being married to a professional footballer meant our nomadic lifestyle made it difficult for me to kick my own career goals while he kicked his – pun intended.

One day I woke up with enough inspiration to make up for lost time and so I started blogging. While part of me wishes I blogged my travels while living overseas – there were so many weird and wonderful stories to tell – it wasn’t to be. But hey, better late than never, right?

This blog has brought me some incredible fortune. Not only have I met some amazing people in my readers and followers on social media, but my Mamma’s Vida words have got me gigs. Real writing gigs. If you are interested in how and where to find me, click here.

But back to Mamma’s Vida. Many people ask about the name and how it came to be. Readers of this blog may know that my littlest girl is named Vida – the Spanish word for Life. And while I would call her namesake part of the inspiration behind Mamma’s Vida, it wasn’t completely named after her. After all, that wouldn’t be fair to the great kid that first made me a Mamma – my Sienna and my youngest child, Zavi.

I could write a gazillion words about the emotions I feel about being a Mum. The joy it gives me to see my children grow up every day. The burst of love I feel when they say I love you or kiss me spontaneously.

But being a Mamma isn’t just about being a Mamma and that’s why this blog is about A Mamma’s Life – that Mamma, of course, being me. It is, quite simply… Mamma’s Vida: A Mamma’s Life Musings.

Welcome to my thoughts and I would love for you to share with me, yours.

Love,

Kat
