Wifey is proud as punch

Often, when athletes retire they say they want to give back to the community.

Some say it because they’re expected to. Others say it because they mean it.

My hubby grew up in Far North Queensland – a Cairns jungle kid, I call him. And for as long as he remembers, he had a dream to be a footballer.

He became one. And he was awesome.

So now he has a job in the real world. And for a while there things were okay; he seemed to be dealing with his football-less life pretty well.

Until he turned to me one day and said that he wanted to teach kids how to play football.

That he wanted to help give kids the opportunities he never had.

That he wanted to give back to the community.

Turns out he couldn’t shake the game that set his world alight; the game that made him dream big dreams.

So Caravella Coaching was born. Just like that.

You know when you know in your heart something is meant to be? When everything just feels… right?

And you know when things fall into place, for all the right reasons?

That’s why Wifey is proud as punch. Because he is going to be an excellent coach. With the biggest heart. Dreaming completely new dreams, big, huge dreams that still involve his beloved round ball.

So calling all football-mad Cairns kids and families – Caravella Coaching has come to town! Please, visit our site and share with your friends, and if you like what you see, sign up for a session with Zenon – you won’t be disappointed.

All comments read, appreciated and responded to. So thank you x

No wonder you’re proud, Kat – a wonderful (and altruistic) new business venture! Good luck. :)

Thanks Lee-Anne, it really is exciting. He’s got his first group of kids this weekend and he can’t wait! (Neither can I!) xx

He will make a great coach. Very blessed to have met him a few times when you guys were here on the Gold Coast. I was blown away when he remembered my name at Adelaide Oval (Socceroos v NZ) after he left. I wish you both all the best.

Hi Terry, what a lovely comment – thank you so much and I’ll pass it on to Zenon. He definitely remembers a face (and name), especially the kind ones! Thank you for your well wishes :)
